Seaside

As mentioned here, we spent seven glorious days on the beach in Seaside celebrating my mom's birthday.  We couldn't have ordered better weather... it was the perfect blend of overcast and sunny, giving us ample time to relax while still allowing plenty of beach-time.
The third night we were there, we successfully convinced our parents to have a fire on the beach.  We had, after all, brought plenty of s'more supplies and didn't want them to go to waste.  And, after the experience we had in Pacific City, we knew we had to share it with my family.

For Mom's birthday, my Dad had arranged for a special dinner at EVOO, an incredible restaurant in neighboring town, Cannon Beach.  It was, quite possibly, the single most epic food experience of my life.

My Wonderful Parents

Due to school schedules and such, all of my siblings (and husband) had to leave a few days early, so I was able to spend a few days with my parents. All to myself!  We went for an incredible hike and ended the day with some authentic gelato - imported directly from Italy!

It really was an incredible week.  It was a sweet reminder of how blessed we are to consider our family friends.  A week of card games, beach combing, boardwalk running, food cooking, reading, and just, plain being together.  Such times are becoming fewer and farther between as we all *sniff* grow up and go our separate ways, making those times we do spend together that much more precious.

Just Us

We will also remind you that this is just a BLOG…just the highlights. We don’t sit around happily smiling for pictures all day long. Our life is far from perfect: we are imperfect people serving a perfect God. We do strive to glorify God, but we fail miserably and find comfort in knowing that our debts have been paid and we have been set free.
